Idi Hotel is located in the famous village of Zaros, 45km southwest of the city of Heraklion, at the foot of Psiloritis (Mount Idi) from which it takes its name. It is a family-run hotel established in 1980, which the current generation continues to operate based on the tradition of Cretan hospitality. Our goal is the visitor to satisfy all its needs enjoying a comfortable stay with personal care that will make him feel like a member of our family. The complex is spread over an area of 15 acres with lush gardens, a variety of fruit and other trees and is surrounded by the enchanting nature that offers the water from the rich springs of Psiloritis Mountain. The visitor will have the opportunity to wake up in a peaceful environment listening to the song of birds and the sound of water running under the plane trees, to taste fresh water gushing at the source next to the hotel entrance, to taste fresh fish from the fish farm of our restaurant and to watch the process of grinding barley and wheat at the last remaining active Traditional Watermill in Crete.

Next to the hotel is the homonymous restaurant that has been operating under the care of our family for over 40 years, which includes its own fish farm with trout, salmon trout and sturgeon. In our facilities there is a cafe-bar where you will find a variety of options to enjoy. Coffee, beer, freshly squeezed orange juice from our orange grove, drinks from our very rich collection and even special cocktails. In a special place in our garden overlooking the southern slopes of Psiloritis Mountain is the outdoor freshwater pool. Around it on the green grass you will find sun beds to enjoy the sun as well as hammocks under the shade of the trees. The tennis court above the pool is a good choice for those who love sports.

   

The Traditional Watermill that you will see here is special, which dates back to about 1600, as it has been designated as a historical monument and is the last watermill in operation in Crete.

The hotel rooms are located in three different buildings of the complex and vary in style, able to meet the different tastes of each of our guests. The main building includes 32 rooms (single, double and triple rooms) as well as there are 2 different outdoor buildings in the garden located around the pool which include 27 rooms (single, double, triple and family rooms). All rooms without exception have a terrace or balcony with wonderful views of the foothills of Psiloritis and the lush garden with pool.

    

Breakfast is offered in the specially designed restaurant hall of our hotel in a rich buffet which consists of fresh local products that are prepared daily with special care by the family of Hotel Idi. Includes coffee, juices, milk, various types of tea including the special mixture of wild herbs collected from the slopes of Psiloritis Mountain, bread and toast, croissants, pies, freshly baked cakes with various recipes, yogurt, honey, various types of cereals and homemade jams with special flavors made from fruits that we collect from the trees in our garden. You will also find various types of cheese and cold cuts, eggs, vegetables and fruits from our garden as well as delicious Greek yogurt.

    

Because the hotel Idi is conveniently located to make the Rouvas gorge, but also to visit this part of the island with many sightseeing opportunities not far, as the archaeological sites of great interests of Phaistos and Gortyn, or the beaches of the Libyan sea.

But the hotel Idi has another advantage. For beyond its location and its comfort, it also has a tavern, the tavern IDI whose particularity is to breed trout. So you can see the ponds and enjoy the freshness of the place to taste some typical dishes of Crete, or a good trout with a good Cretan wine. Their bread is also delicious, and for good reason ...they make themselves their flour with an old mill in water which is right next door.
In fact that is why everything is good, everything is homemade!
