Amiens, town of Art and History, is famous for its splendid Gothic cathedral classified with the Inheritance of UNESCO. Clearness, perfection and harmony of the proportions define Notre-Dame of Amiens.

True technical prowess, it's one of the most beautiful florets of the traditional Gothic architecture. Built as from 1220 by Robert de Luzarches then Thomas and Renaud de Cormont, his length (145 m), its height (42 m) and its volume (200 000 m3) do of them one of the vastest Gothic buildings never high. Its external and interior statuary is as remarkable as its architecture. It is essential since its restoration like the principal reference in the discovery of the polychromy of the Gothic gates. This revelation gave rise to the spectacle “Amiens, the cathedral colors” which proposes a restitution of the medieval colors of origin.

However, the city conceals many other treasures: the museums, the Saint-Leu district irrigated by the channels of the Somme, the Picardy puppets and without forgetting the market gardens… These water gardens are located in the middle of the city and encourage with a bucolic walk. It is a preserved site today, with two steps of the downtown area where fauna and flora enjoy a calm and protected space. Amiens is also the town of Jules Verne. The house where he lived is opened with the visit and of many testimonys of its life and its work are presented today to the public. After important renovation works, the house with the tower inhabited by Jules Verne of 1882 to 1900 again offers to the visitors a space where the imaginary universe and the daily newspaper mix with the famous writer amiénois. On four levels, it evokes through more than 700 objects of the collection of Amiens Métropole, the personality, the sources of inspiration and the memories of Jules Verne. Wintergarden to the attic, you are invited to revive the adventures of the heroes verniens: Michel Strogoff, César Cascabel, Mathias Sandorf, Phileas Fogg, the Nemo Captain and so much of others. An extraordinary voyage awaits you in this place emerged of our past and turned towards the future.
